Groundswell Action Fund is proud to announce a powerful collaboration with Ms. magazine: the launch of the Gender & Democracy series. This initiative uplifts the strategies, stories, and victories of grassroots leaders advancing a multiracial, feminist democracy across the U.S.

Since launching Women & Democracy in 2021, Ms. magazine has been a vital resource for understanding the connections between gender, right-wing extremism, political violence, and authoritarianism. Now, through Gender & Democracy, Groundswell Action Fund and Groundswell Fund are expanding that vision, spotlighting the bold organizing work of our grantee partners.

The Gender & Democracy series highlights frontline movement leaders building lasting power in their communities, defending democratic freedoms, and confronting systemic injustice head-on. These stories reflect the transformative impact of intersectional organizing in the face of deep political threats.
