Chanda is a queer Black/Pinay who was raised in a working-class family by an immigrant mother and military father. As the first college graduate in her family, she was bogged down with tons of credit card debt, student loans, and no idea how to manage either. Within a couple of years, she read everything she could about personal finance, paid down her credit card debt, and automated her student loan payments. During that time, she shared what she learned with friends who were struggling with debt.
Through that process, she discovered a passion for finance and a desire to empower others to transform their relationship to money. This led to her 15+ year career as a social justice finance professional, coach, and educator. Her mission within organizations is to practice radical transparency and develop the financial leadership of all staff in order to decentralize the inherent power of finance.
