Breaking Barriers, Building Power: A Year of Action and Resilience

At Groundswell Action Fund, we firmly believe that transformative power begins at the grassroots – at the local, regional, and state levels. Our 2023 impact report, “Breaking Barriers, Building Power: A Year of Action and Resilience,” details the incredible work of our grantee partners and the strategic philanthropic partnerships we are making nationwide to defend and advance reproductive justice.

Our grantee partners remain a beacon of inspiration as we stand on the brink of the 2024 elections, confront the ominous specter of rising fascism, navigate the ongoing challenges of COVID-19, and fiercely defend bodily autonomy in a post-Roe v. Wade landscape with rising legislative attacks on our trans and gender-expansive siblings. They urge us to think bigger, act boldly, and fund with greater conviction than ever before.

We are proud to have distributed $2.9 million and supported 48 organizations in 2023, and we look forward to seeing the results of our sustained investments in movements in the years ahead.
